The timeline in the Book of Revelation

There are elaborate and complicated charts that show when different parts of Revelation take place. However, the question remains:

Where are we on this timeline?

Well, the answer is very simple, and the overview is also simple. The book of Revelation can be divided into five distinct periods:

• Events around Jesus’ first coming
• Events between Jesus’ first and second coming
• Some smaller passages describing the time just before Jesus’ second coming
• Jesus’ second coming
• New Heaven and Earth

We are in the second period. Since the third stage is very short, Jesus could be there at any time.
